The West Houston Bulldogs are hosting a tryout for this coming year’s baseball seasons. As we move to our new age division we have some key slots to fill on both our 7u & 9u club teams. Our idea is to fill these slots with committed players and families that have the intention to stay with us for a long time. In having these kids grow together with top notch coaching and years of playing with each other, they will have the opportunity to maximize their potential and longevity of their baseball career. The research is out there that this is the best way to produce top tier teams that will have a group of players with long baseball careers through college and beyond. Try outs will be held on August 12th from 10am to 12pm & August 13th from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Memorial Ashford Little League (MALL Fields), located at 12900 Westmere Drive 77077.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:
* We are non-profit organization that allows select style baseball at no more of a cost than playing little league with NO MONTHLY FEES.
* It is our belief that other sports are important too for kids to be more rounded athletes, so we try to set our schedules to the seasons accordingly.
* Our team provides a family style atmosphere for players and families. It is important to us to acquire good talent, but it is more important to us to welcome great families to the program.
* Safety is our number 1 priority over winning and we have experienced personnel in the medical field with knowledge of child development.
We created our program accordingly, with this in mind. We are not a burn out program. Both of these teams will play in a fall Sunday league with games every other weekend starting in early September. We will also be part of an independent league that will form its schedule around the other sport’s schedules for the fall. Both teams will play in at least 2 tournaments in the fall/winter. The fall/winter focuses on baseball fundamentals and the refining of the athlete’s skills. We take breaks from practice in the months of December and August in which we expect the kids to do absolutely no throwing. In the spring/summer (baseball) season the kids will have the knowledge to put the skills to action with less instruction from the coaches and more playing. The spring/summer will consist of a regular season ending with a tournament and many weekend tournaments for both teams.
We hope to see some great families out at the field!
